Think you might have a lemon? Start with a free NC lemon law case review from Norris Law Firm PLLC. We serve consumers across North Carolina — from the mountains to the coast. Furthermore, we are conveniently located in Wake Forest, just outside Raleigh. Contact us today to take the first step.
However, please read the eligibility information below carefully before reaching out. Due to high contact volume, we have limited our case reviews to specific claim types.
Cases We Can Review
New Vehicle NC Lemon Law Claims First, we handle new vehicle lemon law claims. These involve vehicles, motorcycles, RVs, or campers bought new and still within the warranty period. In most cases, this covers vehicles purchased within the past five years.
Used Vehicle Warranty Claims In addition, w
e review used vehicle warranty claims. These involve used vehicles purchased with an existing dealer warranty, service contract, or remaining manufacturer warranty. However, we only review claims for vehicles newer than ten model years.
Auto Dealer Fraud Furthermore, we handle auto fraud claims. Specifically, these involve undisclosed accident damage, lemon law buyback history, flood damage, or salvage titles. As with used vehicle claims, we only review cases for vehicles ten years old or newer.
Cases We Cannot Review
Unfortunately, some cases fall outside what we handle. Therefore, we cannot review the following:
- Commercial vehicles — semi trucks, dump trucks, or cargo trucks
- As-Is used vehicle defect claims — vehicles bought without any warranty or service contract
- Non-vehicle warranty claims — HVAC systems, solar panels, water coolers, etc.
- Negligent repair claims — vehicles damaged by a repair shop or mechanic
- Dealer title or registration failures — in most cases, file a complaint with the NC DMV License and Theft Bureau first
- Spot delivery (yo-yo transactions) — unless the dealer refuses to return your down payment or trade-in
- Claims against out-of-state dealers — if you bought a used vehicle from a dealer in another state, contact a consumer attorney in that state via NACA
- Non-auto consumer claims — debt collection, credit reporting, mortgages, timeshares, solar panels
- Criminal defense — we do not handle criminal matters
If your case falls into one of these categories, we recommend visiting the National Association of Consumer Advocates or NC Advocates for Justice for a referral.

Small Claims Court If we cannot help and your damages are under $10,000, small claims court may be an option. The NC Legal Aid Small Claims Guide can help you evaluate that path.
