Stellantis announced recently that it is recalling a little over 91,000 2022-2026 plug-in hybrid Grand Cherokees because of a software defect that could lead to loss of drive power. If you own one of vehicle and it was manufactured from July 23, 2021 to August 29, 2025 you may soon get a recall report from FCA/Stellantis about this defect and should take it to a close dealership to have it fixed as quickly as possible.
FCA submitted a recall notice letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on September 5, 2025 first informing it of the pending recall.
What Should You Do?
• Look Up Your Vehicle – you can use the NHTSA recall check on their website to easily determine if your vehicle is included in the recall.
• A recall notice should be sent to you on or around October 23, 2025, so be on the lookout for that and take it with you when you go to the dealership for the recall repair.
• If your vehicle has any related problems before you get the recall notice from FCA, make sure you make an appointment at your closest dealership to have the problem fixed. Symptoms include drive power loss and performance drop, abnormal hybrid battery mode behavior, or warning lights about the powertrain or battery.
Potential Lemon Law Claims
You may have a lemon law claim for these issues if they arise in the first two years or 24,000 miles and FCA is not able to repair the defects in a reasonable number of attempts or repair days. This is generally four attempts for the same issue or one or more repairs that take longer than 20 cumulative business days in a 12-month period. If you have prior repairs for this vehicle or other FCA/Stellantis products, please give us a call for a free case review. There is no risk in having a qualified attorney help you get rid of your lemon! Give us a call or submit a case review request on your website and we will be happy to discuss it with you.
